Skinport Review 2026

Skinport is a marketplace and only a marketplace. You list a skin, another user pays real money for it, and the proceeds go to your bank account. There is no on-site balance to spend, no instant-sell counter, no case opening and no trading. That one decision explains most of what follows, including the payout rules, which are stricter than anything else in this directory.

Who Runs It

Skinport publishes a full German imprint, which is more operator detail than almost anything else in this directory offers. It names Skinport GmbH, Steiermärker Straße 3-5, 70469 Stuttgart, Germany, registration number HRB 764879 at the Amtsgericht Stuttgart, VAT ID DE318525949, with Tristan Milla as managing director, plus a contact point for users and EU authorities under Article 11 of the Digital Services Act.

Read that correctly. A German commercial register entry is a corporate filing, not a gambling licence, and the two get conflated constantly in this category. Here the distinction matters less than usual, because there is no gambling product to licence. What the imprint buys you is a real legal entity in an EU jurisdiction with a named director, a VAT number and a statutory complaints contact.

The terms of service, last updated 25 August 2024 according to the page, describe Skinport GmbH as the Merchant of Record and name Adyen N.V. as the payment processor. Skinport states it is not a contracting party to the sale between two users, only the broker of it.

What Skinport Offers

• Multi-game markets. CS2 is the main one, with Dota 2, Rust and Team Fortress 2 alongside it. On the day we checked, the homepage counters read 3.77M CS2 items and 504.1K TF2 items listed.
• Float and discount on every listing. Each item shows its float and the percentage below Skinport's reference price, so browsing doubles as a price check.
• Tooling. A Skinport Plus browser extension for use on Skinport and Steam, a screenshot tool, and a public API documented at docs.skinport.com. We did not install the extension.
• No trading and no instant sell. The FAQ is blunt on both: items cannot be traded on Skinport directly, and Skinport does not buy items from you itself. For a fast sale, its own advice is to undercut the market.

Money In, Money Out

Buying and selling run on separate rails here, and it catches people out. On the buying side the FAQ documents PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Alipay, with the caveat that availability depends on your location and no other method can be used.

On the selling side there is exactly one exit. The FAQ states that Skinport only supports payouts via bank transfer, charges no payout fee, and sends them automatically once per day by default, with weekly or monthly available. It describes proceeds reaching the seller account in usually 1 to 2 business days and the bank transfer taking a further 1 to 3.

Two rules follow. The FAQ says balance earned from sales cannot be used to buy items on the marketplace, citing legal reasons, so money cannot cycle inside the site. And payouts require Know Your Customer verification, with tiered thresholds that pause payouts until you clear them. Those thresholds live on the seller account page, behind a login we did not create, so we cannot tell you what they are.

The hardest edge is geographic. The FAQ states that payouts are unavailable in some countries because Skinport's payment service provider does not support them, and warns that using a VPN to get around the restriction leads to the loss of both the sale proceeds and the sold items. The supported country list is not published there. Check yours before you deposit inventory, not after. Accounts are 18 or over, and trade-locked items are listed but hidden from public sale during Steam's seven day reversal window.

Fees and Pricing

Skinport publishes its fee openly in the FAQ, which is not a given in this category. As of 6 August 2026 the FAQ states a regular sales fee of 8% of the selling price, a reduced 6% on high value items where the threshold depends on your currency, and a 2% fee for its private listing and middleman service. The fee includes VAT and is rounded up to the nearest eurocent, with a minimum of one cent per sale.

The fee is charged to the seller. The terms describe it as a brokerage fee invoiced to the vendor and deducted from the price the buyer pays, and we found no published buyer-side fee anywhere on the site. Fee tiers move, so treat those numbers as what Skinport published on the date we checked, not a permanent rate card.

One pricing detail matters more than the fee. Skinport's suggested listing price is, by its own FAQ, set 5% above the average selling price, derived from the median Steam Community Market price over 30 days. Accepting the suggestion means listing above market on purpose, and the same FAQ notes that items above it are rarely bought.

What We Have Not Verified

• Payout speed and reliability. Skinport is not in our timed withdrawal tracker. The 1 to 3 business days figure is Skinport's own claim, not our measurement.
• The 6% threshold. The FAQ points to a blog post for it instead of stating a number.
• Buyer-side cost. No buyer fee is published, and we did not complete a checkout to confirm the charge equals the listed price.
• Supported payout countries and KYC thresholds. Neither is published. The thresholds sit on the logged-in seller account page, which we did not access.
• Founding year. Skinport's about page does not state one.
• The rating widget. The homepage displays 4.9 out of 5 from over 35,286 reviews. We did not audit those reviews or their source.

Who Skinport Is Right For

Sellers who want cash in a bank account, who live in a supported country, and who will do KYC and wait a few days. For that person Skinport is the most straightforward option in this directory, because the company is identifiable, the fee is published, and no gambling surface is attached to the wallet. It is the wrong site if you want money back in minutes, or if you want to swap skin for skin. Those are deliberate omissions, not missing features.

SkinsVault Verdict

Rating: 4.5 / 5. Skinport does the boring things properly. A named German company with a register number and a VAT ID, a fee schedule you can read without an account, no payout fee, and a marketplace that refuses to hold your money as gambling credit. The deductions are real though. The payout country list is not published, the KYC thresholds sit behind a login, and the reduced fee threshold is not stated as a number. Add that we have never timed a Skinport payout ourselves, and the honest posture is confident about who you are dealing with, unproven on how fast you get paid. We earn nothing here, so neither half of that is doing any work for us.
