Swap.gg Review 2026

Swap.gg is a bot trading site for CS2, Rust and Team Fortress 2, run from Amsterdam by a named Dutch company. It does the usual three things: swap skins against a bot inventory, buy from that inventory, or sell into it for money. It is also one of the very few sites in this category that publishes an actual commission number. Read that number before you trade, and read the live banner on the sell page before you plan a cash-out.

Who Runs It

The footer states it on every page: Swap.gg is a tradename of Swap.gg B.V., at Sloterweg 796, 1066 CN Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The terms add a Chamber of Commerce registration number, 85936200. The site also publishes support and legal email addresses and a Dutch phone number, which is more contactability than almost anything else in this directory offers. A Dutch B.V. sits inside EU consumer and data law whether the operator likes it or not.

No gambling licence is claimed, and none is needed for a swap service that is not running games of chance. The company number matters because it lets you look the entity up yourself. The footer copyright runs from 2017.

Two clauses matter before you fund an account. The age rule is harder than most rivals: "individuals under 18 years of age are prohibited from using our services, irrespective of parental or guardian consent". And on termination, the terms say a remaining balance "shall be deemed forfeited and shall be accrued to the balance of Swap.gg". Do not leave money sitting there. The refund policy covers unused wallet funds within 14 days of purchase and nothing else.

What Swap.gg Offers

• Free tools, a float checker, inspect viewer, Steam ID finder, inventory value calculators and server status pages.

One gap worth flagging. The homepage FAQ still describes a Market where you "sell your items for real money to other users" at prices you set. We could not find that Market in the signed-out interface: the navigation on 6 August 2026 offers Trade, Store, Instant Sell and Giveaways only. If a user-priced marketplace is why you are here, confirm it exists first.

The site's own numbers also disagree with each other. The homepage counts "10M+ Completed Transactions" while the trade page claims "over 50 million successful trades". Trustpilot is quoted as 4.4 from more than 1500 reviews in one place and 4.7 from over 2,000 in another. We counted none of them.

Money In, Money Out

Deposits are the strong side: the footer advertises a payment method row plus "200+ more", and the about page claims more than 200 payment options. Withdrawals need care. Swap.gg trade balance is not money, and the help centre says outright that "it is not possible to cash out Swap.gg trade balance" and that it "can only be used to withdraw items". The cash route is Instant Sell.

Here is where the date on this review matters. The sell page's static copy advertises payouts in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether (ERC-20), Tron, Solana and Dogecoin, plus SEPA for EU users. On 6 August 2026 a banner at the top of that same page read: "Crypto payouts are temporarily unavailable and will be back very soon. For now, only bank payouts within the EU are supported." If you are outside the EU, check that banner before depositing, because on the day we looked there was no working payout route for you.

How Trades Work

You sign in with Steam, pick items from your inventory on one side and from the bot inventory on the other, then accept the trade offer in Steam. Swap.gg requires a public Steam account, a trade URL set on the site, and the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled for at least 15 days. That 15 day rule catches people out on fresh accounts.

The commission is published and it is a two-part number. The help centre states a "base commission of 8%" on CS:GO and CS2, Rust and Team Fortress 2 trades, plus "an additional fee between 0% and 20% ... based on availability and popularity of the items being traded". It also explains how that is collected: by "marking up the prices of items in the Swap.gg bot inventory", so you meet it as a worse rate rather than a line item. Total take can therefore run from 8% to 28%. That disclosure is useful, and it sits oddly next to trade page copy claiming users here "avoid the high commission fees associated with trading bots".

Pricing runs off Swap.gg's own data. The help centre says the algorithm weighs sales volume, how fast an item moves, and a set of recent sale prices rather than the cheapest listing. Low-volume items "might receive discounts", fast-moving items "may receive an additional markup". No external reference, including the Steam Market, is named. Price your item elsewhere before you accept.

Trade locks and reversals are handled cleanly. Locked items go to your Swap.gg Backpack and can be withdrawn once the lock elapses. On reversals the help centre describes Steam's "mandatory 7-day hold period on CS2 trades" and splits your balance into reserved and available. If the original owner reverses a trade on an item you bought, the item leaves your Backpack and "you will automatically receive a full refund for the purchase price of that specific item", with penalties for the reverser. That is the buyer-friendly version of a rule several competitors handle worse.

What We Have Not Verified

• Payout speed, Swap.gg is not in our withdrawal tracker, and on the day we checked crypto payouts were suspended entirely.
• The real total commission, 8% plus 0 to 20% is published, but we did not run a trade to see where an item lands.
• Whether the user-priced Market still exists, described in the homepage FAQ, absent from the navigation.
• Trade and user counts, the site quotes 10 million and 50 million trades on different pages.
• Restricted countries, the terms warn about restricted areas but never list them.

Who Swap.gg Is Right For

EU traders, specifically. A Dutch company with a registration number, a phone line, SEPA payouts and a published commission beats an anonymous offshore bot, and SEPA is currently the only cash exit that works. Outside the EU it is a fine place to swap skins for skins and a bad place to plan on getting money out until crypto payouts return. Note the 8% floor: this is not the cheapest way to move an inventory, it is one of the clearer ones.

Rating: 4.3 / 5. Swap.gg earns its score on transparency rather than price. A named Dutch entity with a chamber of commerce number, a real phone line, a published 8% base commission with the variable band spelled out, an admission that the fee is buried in the markup, and a buyer-protective reversal policy add up to a site you can actually evaluate. Against it: a take that can reach 28%, a trade balance that can never become cash, marketing numbers that contradict each other across three pages, and a cash-out route that on 6 August 2026 worked only for EU bank transfers. Good for swapping, EU-only for selling, and not a site we have timed.
